bum on chair...

hello dear readers,
today I begin again or that's what it feels like. I keep getting stuck around the last quarter of The Rockwalker. Today I'm going in and not coming out until I have the knot at least identified. My dear pal K. gave me a clue. She thought maybe one of my characters had something to tell me but I had neglected to ask him. I think that is true so I'm going with it. I am a talker - I know lots of writers say keep your story to yourself until you have that second draft done and I've mostly done that with this except reading the first four chapters or so to a couple of friends in the heat of the moment - but they've changed anyway so... But back to talking. I need to talk to someone in order to know what I'm thinking. That can be you all but I don't want to give away too much of the story as some of you will be my first readers. So I didn't tell too much but I figured something out. Hopefully I'll break on through to the other side today. I'll keep you posted.

Without my sounding boards, I would meander too often to new projects, so I think talking is FINE. I talk and share a lot initially, and then feel committed to continuing. I'm part of a writer's community and without them, I'd be back at that original idea and nearly no text... So talking is a-okay in my book.
