Tuesday - no Gwen - big mess - but breakthrough!

Hi all! Today I sit in a big schmozzle of an office. Really really messy. I'd take a photo just to prove it but I can't find my camera. No, that isn't true. I know where my camera is but getting it means stepping over too many half-full boxes and then I'd have to find the connector cord and ... well, I just can't right now.

I've just spent the last forty minutes of my precious time trying to get this blog to be on my gmail account instead of the one that is locked into this house address and which will no longer be viable in a few short days. Apparently I can import this blog into another created account but nah, it won't work. Just says it can't - try later. So not sure what that means.

On the writing front I have a breakthrough to announce. The other morning - Sunday - before I had to take the step-dot on a camping adventure - I sat down in the chaos and went at Bright Angel. And I did it! I figured out the sticky plot problem. It finally just happened with no big band announcement or flash of lightening. Just did it. Whew!

Then, while I was driving the dot I told her the whole story. She really really likes it. Yay! So now I have a rough shitty first draft and I can put it in an imaginary drawer and leave it for a month. During that month any writing time I have will go into revising True ... again. This makes me feel so wonderful I can't tell you. I loved writing this draft in a white heat but I really struggled with how to make the crisis how I wanted it. The answer was so blindingly simple I couldn't see it.

So ... may not write again until I'm in the interim retreat house (which now has our couch, chair and all our spices and cooking gear). Wish me luck!

Jan - Oh, I am so happy that you had a breakthrough. Ain't that the greatest feeling? And even more so when someone whose view you respect likes it. Yay for you!
