It has gone...

Last night, quite a bit past midnight, I sent off my package to the contest I'm entering. It had the full manuscript of True, a four page synopsis and other required bits and pieces. I finished reading the book out loud at midnight.
I would love to loll about today but I have a jam-packed day of clients, appointments, visits and so on. It will end late this evening and tomorrow is another much the same. Maybe on the weekend I can breathe a bit. Next up is getting the four query packages together. That should be a cake-walk after this, but alas alack, it will not be - I have to refine my one page synopsis. I'd rather pluck my own head off my shoulders and bowl with it blind.
Today I've decided to be grateful to everyone. I'm grateful for the teachers, positive and negative, who have pushed me on my path. I am so grateful to my dad and mum who taught me to stick to my guns, pitter-patter-fly-atter and remember 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going'. I'm grateful to my darling guy, who sees my bleary face and thinks I'm gorgeous anyway, and to my dog, who makes me walk no matter what. I'm grateful to my swell friends, both touchable and in the ether, who applaud my efforts, and make me laugh. I'm grateful to my kids who keep me real. And I'm grateful to chocolate and coffee. Yes.
Now I'm off for my busy day.

Here's another shattered window photo - because we can't get enough of those!

Good luck to you with your contest and queries! Man, I feel exactly the same way about synopses. What a pain in the tushie.
