A Month of Fridays continued...

Friday, May 13, 2011

Well, that's a fine howdoyoudo!! A Friday Challenge

Here it is - the day more than half over - and I not only haven't got my challenge posted BUT yesterday's post has been disappeared - to wherever those things go - the bloggers' gulag. That post is working in a salt mine somewhere, feeling very sad, muttering to itself  "I had a whole lot of comments - I was worthy - they liked me, they really really liked me" but too damn bad for it. It is gone gone gone. Gone like the landlord's smile, gone like a fifth of gin, gone like the shape I'm in, gone gone away. (thank you John Hiatt for those lyrics from your song 'Gone')

Your challenge, should you choose to take it, is to write between two and twelve pages on what you've lost - what is gone. Really get into it. Could be a beautiful rust coloured chenille jacket from the sixties, or the trust of a friend, or the memory of your mother singing to you when you were ill. Whatever it is - write it down in a torrent of goneness. Get it all out - down on the page - gone from your mind onto the paper.

Gone, gone gone, solid gone.

That Blogger!

Nice challenge, though!

I'm thinking we need to do blog backups, Jan...I haven't done mine for a while. It's pretty easy...this link walks us through it: http://www.etipslibrary.com/2011/03/how-backup-blogger-blog.html

I don't like to focus on what is gone but more on what is to come. I'm learning to focus on the now. It's not easy.

Friday is gone, alas ... and with it, my wonderful summer holiday. So no time for other people´s challenges; now I am the one who must challenge my students. They enjoyed seeing me today so I am probably not demanding enough ;)
