Checking in

I'm checking in - letting you know how it is going. It is going. My adapted plan is working so far. I'm rising at six, sitting at my shrine, sipping my coffee, walking the dog and getting some writing in. Today I have to leave in a few minutes to go to work but I got an hour of writing in and I'm taking some notes and paper to work some more between clients.
And I saw two tulips growing in my yard. I didn't put them in this or last year because they are almost always eaten by the deer so...but here are two that no one got. hurrah!
It is hard to think of gardening - I think it will be a slim effort this year on my part. I'm just not up for it. We are getting chicks this Saturday though and that is thrilling to me. The step-dot is coming with and any moment I can hang with her is golden.
OK, I'm off....like the bride's brassiere! (a saying of my dear mum's)

Good work! I have the same relationship with gardening. Every year I feel as if I won't be up for it. But eventually I have some fun. Chicks! My husband wants them dearly. I am so afraid though - will I feel about them as I do the gardening?

One of the nice things about your plan is that you experience success right at the start of your day! I always feel so great when that happens. :)

Glad things are working for you! My daughter went to an organic farm yesterday and came home quite in love with the chicks. She's 17!

Love the early morning, writing, coffee, the first sun...ahhh...I know you're probably not getting the chicks as pets, but I've always wanted a pet chicken..I'm in an apartment, they do allow birds, so I wonder if I could get away with it...??...hmmm....as for gardening, my patio is going to be grand and colourful this year, finally!! Have a great day Jan! Always a pleasure to read your posts!

I really wish I could get up and write like that. I'm a terrible morning person.

I'm glad it's going well and I hope it continues so positively.

Those pesky deer! I love them in the winter, but not in the spring/summer when they devour my garden! Enjoy your tulips and chicks.

(The idea of getting up at 6 makes me shiver, though.) :-)

Hello all dear womenisis, now it is 9:30 and I'm going to put this in and head for bath and bed - the down side of getting up at 6! For all of you interested in the chicken story - head over to my other blog - Living the Complicated Simple Life (sidebar link) or check earlier posts on this site under chickens! This will be my third flock and me and the guy maintain that life is just much much sweeter with busy little chooks wandering around, eating bugs and pooping on the flowers...
see you tomorrow at the Friday Challenge.
