I know, I know - I told you this yesterday but nobody was home and I want to say it again.
I finished my big revision on True. I couldn't quite believe it when I got to the end. Then I spell-checked it and that took a bit of time but I am done enough for my first readers. I just sent two files off and one person is getting a hard copy. I gave them a set of questions and then I'll have another set for when they're done - thank you Elizabeth George for that tip. The second set of questions I'll keep because I don't want to contaminate their reading.
It is snowing like crazy here - kind of beautiful - probably beautiful because I don't have to drive anywhere. Life is so contextual isn't it?
Now - on to the next thing - I'm doing another polish of The Rock Walker so I can send it out to a few people (Tartlette for one). As soon as I hear from first readers on True - I'll make final changes and find someone to do a real line edit. So I also need to work on my query letter for that. The one for The Rock Walker is pretty much done - remember back to my pitch the publisher success? Then while I wait, I want to get back to Earth Bound, my second mystery.
Oh god will it never end? No, little Jan, it won't -so pitter patter fly atter! Yes, ma'am. (what? you didn't know god was a woman? Shame on you!)
gratuitous photos of kids' legs taken at a school concert last year. That's how I feel - like I'm at my first school concert.

Congratulations! What a great feeling to have that finished! And of course it will never end. It's snowing here too but I am not happy about it whether I have to get out and about in it or not -I don't and I still don't like it! Have a nice day!
Thanks Danette! I just had a look at the Rock Walker and realized it was ready to go too so I'm psyched - now to those query letters. Our German exchange student, Felix, is going to get his first lesson in snow shovelling!
Congratulations and I LOVE your photos.
Woo-hoo! How wonderful to make that accomplishment. and I love those photos of kids' feet of the striped stockings. :)
Congratulations!!! you're flying along :)
Hi Liza - thanks! I'm kinda partial to these ones too - I'd like to take about five of the leg ones and make a big poster. We'll see.
Woo Hoo it is Tricia - very woo hoo! And thanks about the pics!
Jemi - I am and I think it is because I'm back in my own office. I think I can do this anywhere but here is definitely best. Ah.
That's the best feeling isn't it!
Hello to a fellow Canuck. Just lurking through your blog! Wonderful.
Hey Terry - I just went to your site - thought I recognized that little icon - I'm excited about your book - I've read about it on a number of blogs that I follow and I'm just going to read the first chapter!
What an achievement! Can I be in the queue to read it?
This is wonderful news. Congrats. I hope the readers love it.
You sound so busy, but like you're really accomplishing things, Jan. I'm cheering you on!
Kerry - I've got my first readers for the two books sorted out but I would keep your offer in my back pocket for the next one if you like? If I have too many I just get confused!
J.L.- I hope they're honest and ruthless because that's how it will get better BUT yeah, I hope they love it too.
Patricia - thanks so much - you've been here many times so I love having you cheering me!
