first Friday without a challenge...

My back hurts.
I put it out picking up the forty pound bag of dog food from a shelf at knee level. Impossible to crouch and do. Stupid grocery stores. Stupid dog food. Stupid dog that needs to eat. Stupid life that just goes on and on with one demand after another.
It's raining.
I have to go to work.
I can't meet with my pals tonight because my back is too sore.
I didn't do anything on my manuscript yesterday.
SP and I watched a couple of episodes from the second season of The Wire. Man those Baltimore dudes have it bad.
The huge store of granola is nearly half gone and I made it two days ago and there are only three of us here.

This reminds me of this story I heard. It was from a mother who said her young daughter asked her one day after dinner when they'd be finished with all this eating? Ha ha. I really love that.

All right - I'm going to work now. I just wanted you to know that I'm in a minor grumpy mood but I expect to be over it soon.

A problem shared is a problem halved so now all of you have half a problem. The existential problem. Why do we go on and on? Doing dishes that are dirty the next day etc...

Beats the alternative I guess.

Jan - Sorry to hear about your back. I do hope it feels better soon. It's interesting, isn't it, how one thing like that can completely hijack a day, so that everything seems tainted. Your comment about that mother and daughter reminds me of a question I often ask myself. Why does the refrigerator never stay full, and the laundry hamper never stay empty...;-)

Why do we rake and haul the leaves (and rake and haul the leaves, and rake and haul the leaves) and then wait for them to grow and fall so we can do it all again? (Talk about a backache!)

I hope you feel better soon Jan.

Thank you for sharing half your problem. Now my back aches too! Well, I hope you feel better soon because i have things to do and don't like piles of dishes in my sink.

Have a great weekend!

Sore backs should be outlawed. I would share your pain if I could. Actually, no I wouldn't. I've had a sore back. Lie still and make people wait on you. Piteous moans may bring you cookies. Hey, whatever works.

Oh, Jan, i know it is bad when you are saying things like 'stupid dog that needs to eat'... I hope your back heals quickly--backs are the worst--so debilitating when it is really bad.

Hope your back is feeling better soon. Seems the pain comes to us doing the simplest things that we've always done. I think they put extra weigh in the dog food bags (not extra dog food, but just heavier bags). Have a great weekend and relax.
