Back home

I'm home again - I arrived here about 10pm last night - radiant with joy!  The weekend transcended any expectations I could have imagined about it. I got to connect intimately with almost fifty people - many of whom have received dire cancer prognoses. I and several others assisted Tim and a virtual Rob (he was with his ailing mother but joined us on skype Friday evening) as the retreatants learned healing skills such as Qi Gong, body scans, yoga, meditation and thought re-framing.  The most important healing was the loving way that stories were given and received around the circle. We all shared in laughter, tears and tales of struggle and victory. By Sunday we were bursting into songs like This Little Light of Mine and some of the Kabalistic ones that Tim brought to us. We learned that the word healing comes from the word to make whole and found that wholeness can happen even in the midst of a health crises.

My take-aways? That I need to 'mind' my body and embody my mind. That all we have is right now so it would be good to wake-up. Things I knew but now I know in a different un-worded way. I am so looking forward to the journey I've embarked on with this fabulous organization.  I'll keep you all up on its progress.
I promise.

And now back to the writing - which is connected to this weekend in many ways. I talked to Tim about many shamanic practices as that is a crucial aspect of  True and now I must get back to the work of revising. Tim is going to introduce me to a woman who knows lots about some of the rituals that I touch upon in this book so that will be great.

Tomorrow I'm sitting on a panel at a writing conference -our panel will talk about publishing - not sure why I was chosen but I can certainly speak about the journey and how I keep my energy up to tackle that process!

Enough fooling around - back to the book! (That was Ruthalene, my revision muse, yikes!)

This retreat sounds like a wonderful experience with an amazing group of people, Jan. It's interesting how we seem to find the right friends and "teachers" exactly when we need them.

Jan-this sounds like a FABULOUS retreat and I love the idea that whole and healing have the same root. Important to keep in mind, I think. Good luck with getting back to True!
