The Writing Life

For those that follow me or even drop in here and there - you will know that Tuesdays are writing with Gwen days. Gwen is, however, in Banff and writing EVERY day for five whole weeks. And hanging out with writers and has three mentors and elk and everything!
So today, I was supposed to do this other thing - give a talk at my step-daughters school on Buddhism and Peace for Peace Day. Only the teacher mixed it up - it is really thursday which I can't do because I've booked it already. Ask me did I feel peaceful when I found that out? No, I did not, for I had set it up with my daughter-in-law not to come for Tuesday is also go meet the grandkids off the bus day. I guess the world was telling me to write and so I did. I wrote and walked the dog and started an embroidery project for my step-dot's birthday in a couple of weeks. I didn't garden as I planned to because and this is the really weird thing - IT WAS TOO HOT! I'll get up early tomorrow and do it and the other things I neglected today.
My writing went swell - I think. I'm at about 83 thou so seven more days will get me where I want to be. Then I'm going to ignore it for twe weeks and then pick it up and revise the heck out of it.
I wrote the last chapter today. I'm quite pleased with it. How I get there I'm not so sure, since, as we've established, I am not an outline person - I'm a NOP and I just can't do it. I can sneak in sign posts and that's as good as I can get. It means for horrendous revisions but I quite like that part so there ya go. Many I am an outline person after all - maybe it is just that my outlines are 90 thousand words long. Yah - that's it.
So, now you know what I'm up to - writing, sort of gardening though I don't want to be lulled by Mother Nature into jumping the gun and stitching. See ya on Friday!
Oh - today's pics are from my Hoagy walk today...maple buds, stars on my path and those brilliant willow leaves. Oh, I love spring!

Sounds like the writing is going really well. Now that I'm back in town, I need to up my output a little! Maybe you'll rub off on me...

Hi All Goils!
And today turns out to be a writing day too - with bits of gardening and collecting of tax stuff for a meeting tomorrow. Wow! And I really feel IN THE STORY which as you all know is a good good thing.

"three mentors and elk and everything." *snort* LUCKY!

Glad the writing went well! (0K outline person *snort* THAT, I love!)

Okay, so I've snorted twice without saying much, but there you have it...

Glad to hear your writing is going so brilliantly (I followed you here from Brenda's blog). Your photos are wonderful, especially of the bluets, even though this clump apparently is 'whitets'. You've inspired me to go check my pasture for them, because I really want to put a clump in the wet part of the garden but haven't seen any around here yet this spring. At the rate spring is racing past, it will be summer by June 1!

Hi Natasha, Talli, Tartlett and Jodi - I already wrote a note being thrilled at creating a two snort post for the Tartlett but I guess I got rejected on my own site. Humph! Thanks for the beeeyoootiful badge, Natasha, I'll post it today! As you know, I love strokes about my photos! Talli - too hot is remarkable here where there usually is no spring - none, none at all. Snorting one - I'll be by to see what mischief you've invited me into. And Jodi - I've been following you because I found your site on Brenda's. It felt like summer the other day. Maybe that was it though it is looking pretty bright out there today. Thanks for the strokes and for coming by.
