My Wig Arrived!!!

here I am in my new glorious WIGGY! My prize from Denise's wonderful blog Grrl +dog. It arrived too late for a photo essay with the chooks, which was Denise's secret desire but I will have to postpone that until Saturday's chores. I put it on and ran outside in my rubber boots - where Ron was doing MORE shovelling. He cracked up. His face just went all different directions and he hooted. And believe me dear readers, the man is not a hooter (ooh, that doesn't sound right). He took several pictures of me with it on - this is the best. I couldn't strain his patience too much as I will need him to take Saturday's photos too.
Yay! This is what you do when you are a knitter in a warm place like Australia - you don't knit hats and mittens, you knit wigs and tree cozies.
gotta love that!

I love it! It looks wonderful and warm. It was even cold here today...and really windy. I could have used a wig hat.

I love it on you - perfect color too.

Can I use the image? You've got the best look on your face...

Thanks Elizabeth - as delightful as it is though it would not keep my ears warm!

Denise - of course you can! And I promise even more exciting ones when I grab one of the hens and make her part of the photo shoot.

The wig is fine. It's the detemined expression that cracks me up.

This is classic. Wear it for your next murder night. I suspect the character's name would be Agnes. She collects tea pots (which is why she has made a cozy for her head).

Ha, it's cute! I love it!

Jan, you make me smile! :) I love the photos on your previous post too. Just think how easy it'll be for Ron to spot you in the snow when you're wearing your knitted wig. Love it, lady! Cheers!

Arlo - that is me trying not to let my chins and neck collapse - I recognize my mother in this!
Elspeth - we once did a mystery wknd. based loosely on the real life characters from Grey Gardens. The character playing Little Edie wore a sweater on her head for most of the wkns. We love having eccentric characters - I wonder why?
Elizabeth - isn't it cute though? I'm taking it in to show my hairdresser today...but all you southern folk - it doesn't nearly keep my ears warm so I'll only be wearing it when I don't need to do that!!!
Thanks Stacy - the picture of the brrrrches are actually maples - eeps. I love that photo and am going to get it done up large. It looks like it is silver and gold.

I love it! What a fabulous hat! erm... wig! (and I like the face too). It's perfect for that 'poor man's naked' trend you've started...

Oh my, this is very satisfying...all kudo's to Denise at Grrl+dog, except for my delightfully weird face - kudos to my folks and my no soap approach to skin care for that!
oh, and tartlett, you'd better be explaining that cryptic remark, I mean I get it but others may construe. They will you know, they can't help it.
Annie - when are you coming home?????????????

Hi Jan
Thanks for visiting GPB. Look at YOU! So you are the one the won the wig! I was lusting after it. Of course I could knit my own but.....

Cheers

I just wrote a huge response to you Loani and my dog er computer ate it. Dang! Thanks so much for coming by - I adore your site to pieces. I feel so lucky to have something that Denise made and mailed to me with her own hands and perhaps even her delightful dog sniffed it and it felt the warm sun of Australia on it. How dear is that! Now, I am going to practice my accordion. Yes. More on that later with pics!

I love that wig. If I knew how to knit, I'd try to make one.

Love the wig almost as much as I love the expression of the lady wearing it :-)

You look just like a Playmobil figure!!! (They have detachable hair.) I TOTALLY love it and TOTALLY think it should become part of the Canadian winter uniform which consists now primarily of the standard issue black, puffy coat. That hat would improve things considerably.
