To The Wrecks

out the bay there is a place we like to go

the wrecks

the wrecks have been here at least since the 70's and

every year they

are less and less the boats

they were
but they are something else!

we like to row around them

and see what they are becoming

the rust and the water and the weeds and the sunlight
well...

we like this weird skyline

and this is too cosmic for any words...

What a great photo essay. I'm not creative enough to have thought of this, but I can sure appreciate it when I see it. Nicely done.

yes Liz, a bit scary - or ominous anyway. But hey that is what happens to everything and everyone and when you can start seeing the beauty in decaying wrecks...well it's a good thing.

Thanks Galen though I'm not buying the not creative enough thing - I've been to your site many times!

It's pretty, but lonely. I always have a very melancholy feeling when I see old barns, shacks, etc. I love them, though--and the pictures I take can help me recapture the sad feeling I sometimes need when writing.

I don't find it ominous at all - melancholy perhaps. Definitely beautiful.
