Again!

It is writing Tuesday and I'm just about to take Ms. Bella out for a walk-about but I wanted to post my plan - writing it down makes me more accountable.

I have a pal who read an early draft of Bright Angel. She's willing to read this one in a couple of weeks. I'm not going to say who it is because I don't have her permission to do so but we've got a mutual thang going on being extra eyes for each other. She needs a couple of weeks as she's editing her own work right now. That's perfect. Two weeks puts me at June 9th or 10th and gives me a lovely amount of time to really look for over-used words, bad metaphors and all those teeny tiny mistakes that could make me go mad. Then my pal will get a pretty clean copy. Won't do ALL the polishing in case I need to do a big overhaul but I'm kinda hoping I don't.

So - 60 thousand words - two weeks - that is roughly 4,300 words a day. Okily dokily - I have a plan. I will also make a new beat sheet while I'm doing it. I know that seems backwards but trust me - it works well - helps me catch both the big and little picture.

First though, walk the pooch. We'll go destroy some ice pans. We like that.

Checking in after lovely long walk and revising. I did 5,808 words so this will be faster than I thought. Might see if I can just keep zooming ahead.

I am editing, too. It never ends. Love Bella! She looks like a true treasure.

OMG!!! Ice!! I know the omg should be about the editing or Bella, but honestly I can't get past that ice. Good luck with the walk and everything else. I'm also editing and ALMOST done with this book!

Hi Carol and Johanna - oh yes, she's a treasure and she loves snow and ice and freezing water! She escaped this afternoon (where did she suddenly acquire opposable thumbs?) Luckily I caught her at the neighbors and took her home to be ignored.
Yep - ice! The beach is full of it right now - it could float out to the t'other side by tomorrow or even out to where the river comes into the bay and then get swept on to the ocean. I feel quite done with it but is it done with me?

I am in a holding pattern while I reader gives my manuscript a go, and since I haven't come up with a new project yet, I'm going a little stir crazy. I wish I had a plan.
