I'm Tired

I'm tired --just like Madeline Kahn sings in Blazing Saddles. Tired of me. Tired of being tired. Tired of my mouth rabbiting on and on. So here and now, in front of you all as witnesses, I quit complaining! I'm done. It does nothing to improve mine or anyone else's world. My concerns after all aren't a big deal - they are, as we say around here, petty problems of the bourgeoise. I've got a nice fella, good kids and a bed. So I'll just shut up about the rest.

There.

Picture me wiping my hands on my apron.

Now - what am I up to today? Well, la Gwen is coming out for writing. Yay! I'm going to dash down the road with Hoagy for a mini-walk as he appears to be bursting. And then I'm going to open up my file called Bright Angel. Yes!!! It has been a month or more since I put my first draft away to cool and I'm going to read it all the way through today. Very scary and fun.

Now watch that most brilliant of performers do a stellar piece. Jeez I'm sorry she died so young. I could watch her til my toes curl up.

Jan - I just loved that performance from Blazing Saddles!! Thanks for reminding me. And I admire your resolve to focus yourself on gettin' it done. I think there's an important role for acknowledging what makes us unhappy - and there's a time to stop doing that and do something productive.

Enjoy reading your first draft.
And Blazing Saddles is such an awesome movie.

Good luck with your second draft, Jan. Im sure it will feel quite fresh after leaving it a month. Moaning is ok sometimes - gotta let off steam somewhere.... Just so's it doesn't get to be all the time, I reckon.

May the revisions be constructed of love and clarity. I'm cheering you on all the way from Indiana. Go, Jan, Go!
