Another skinny saturday

Today ... il pleut. That means no clowning. Every year for 26 years I've taken a troup of clowns to face-paint for a company picnic in the valley. This is the first time that it has been cancelled due to rain. Arggh. I really love this day. The kids are so dear and of late we've been painting the faces of the children of kids we painted lo those many years ago.

Of course, I have plenty to do. I was just talking to our mover who needs to figure out what we need in the way of storage and how best to do that. I have plenty of packing left to do. And strategizing. I haven't gone to visit the flat we'll be living in for a month (or two) so am not certain how big it is - and what we'll need to add to it to make it home.

If it isn't raining (or raining quite as much) by tomorrow, the picnic will be held then. Will I have my third clown? Not sure. And my co-clown, K., my bestest pal, was planning to have the fella and I over for dinner tomorrow night as the fella's 60th birthday is this coming week and I can't manage anything festive in this chaos! If we clown can we have dinner too - it would be late and we would be exhausted. Oh dear!

On the writing news I'm planning to take a poetry writing course at university that a wonderful poet (and friend) gives. I have to audit it because it is an undergrad course and I'm a grad so not sure how that goes but I am truly looking forward to it. It is a small class (20 or so) and so that means we could really go deep with out writing. I did my BA at the same university but at that time there were no creative writing courses.

Okay. I'm off to pack up three bathrooms. Here are some photos of past clowning ventures:

Later...

Jan - I just love those 'photos! I hope you'll get the chance for some clowning today. It's so good to hear that you're taking that poetry writing course. So very cool and you write beautiful poetry as it is. I'm sure you'll have a great experience. I hope you'll share some of your work.
