Friday Challenge - get out there and lollygag...

Today's Friday Challenge is suited to the mid-summer mind. The mind that has got a dose of those lazy crazy hazy days of summer. I don't know about you but I sometimes find it hard to find my gitty-up this time of year. I develop more of a 'what the hey' look-out which doesn't bode well for the work getting done.
You might think, because of this, that I would have some sort of boot-camp writers' exercise but no. You know I don't think that way. My mind is far too convoluted for that. I'm thinking more of leaning into that leisurely pace instead of fighting it. A homoeopathic course of treatment.
The Challenge:
Get your desk ready for a work session in whatever way you usually do. Then give your desk and your chair a good long look, a punishing look. At that point - say to your desk, your chair, and your work 'harrumph' and turn your back on it. Take a book you've been dying to jump into - perhaps a trashy book that you don't want anyone to see you read - or a big hairy ole classic that you might like to try  and go outside. If you have a hammock - well then I want you to get into that. If you have a nice lazy lounge chair on a deck - that's a good place to be. Maybe you are so blessed that you can take a blanket down to a beach on a lake or ocean - that's fine.Take some refreshments with you - iced tea in a jar, nice crunchy kale chips, something yummy and refreshing.
Now - start lazing. You heard me! You in back - Elspeth! Put down that notebook. No cheating on this. Margot, if I have to tell you to settle down and laze one more time, young lady. Tartlette - I said nothing about stripping down naked but if you have to, you have to. And over there - I hear giggles - well...I suppose that's fine.
You must devote at least an hour and a half to this challenge. I will try to do it longer because I'm very out of practice.
If you  last at least an hour and a half, you may come back to your desk and write.
Now report back to me when you've done this - you have until Monday to complete the challenge.
Good luck and good lollygagging.

PS - I meant this to post this morning and somehow it didn't - this new formatting - argghh. So I'm reposting it and lost one comment.

Okay. You got it. Lollygagging, here I come! But I'm not sure if there's a hammock in my future ... my husband has the whole backyard ripped up. Summer project.

It's great advice. We must lollygag at least 1 1/2 hours per year. Might as well be summertime.

I am trying to dig my self out of the lally-gags and here you are inviting me back in. Well, if you insist! Not in the hammock though, it's supposed to top 100 degrees today.

But I need to write! Maybe I can do both...

Yes, do tell Margot to relax! ;)

I´d love to lollygag out there somewhere, but the Danish weather is wet´n´nasty (not uncommon), and my head is tired´n´nasty (which also happens often) so though I have done nothing my lazing today, it isn´t even nice.

But I am sure everything will be better tomorrow.

too damn cold here, more like snuggle up in front of the fire with ugg boots and a large mug of tea! I love the word lollygag, where does it come from? Sue

Great advice! It's a little too hot and humid here today, so I might have to lollygag indoors. I hope that still counts! Julie
