Frustration - is it a tool?

I'm a little cranky. I won't go on about it but I woke up today full of good juice for moving on - getting back to commenting on my old pals and making some new ones. I had a pretty good start and then I got into this insanity of having to sign in to blogspot and google four thousand times. There is no sense to it at all. Am I too old to work with this technology? I hope not. I've been on computers since they happened. I have pretty much embraced every sort of social networking opportunity but this obstructive blogspotting stuff has to end. I'm very close to jumping ship and going to another blog provider. That gives me the willies though - what if they tie up all my old posts, my photos, my friends, etc...
As to new readers - please read earlier, less cranky posts for a better idea of who I am.
I believe that anger is helpful - it is just energy and it has much more energy than some of the other emotions. I just need to detach from the story-line and make the changes I need to make.
I know some of you have done it. Any suggestions? Or any reasons why I should stay where I am?
Now I'm going to get to my revisions but I'll be back.

What the heck is up with blogger? My dashboard is different almost every time I sign. I hear you about the sign in!!! Last week I had to do it each time I wanted to comment. I gave up so I will have to apologize for no commenting much last week.
Channel your energy to making your changes.

Have a great week, Jan!

It's a Blogger bug, Jan--I know a few people who have it. I've heard that if you don't check the "stay signed in" checkbox when you sign into Blogger, it should (temporarily) fix the issue. Good luck!

Jan - That kind of thing is precisely why I made the move to Wordpress, and I'm sooooo glad I did. It's easy and straightforward to use, and you can import your current blog, so you don't lose past posts and comments. I really grok your frustration, which is why I made the switch.

I had a bout with Blogger last May, but since then it's been pretty good for me. But one day last week, my email server went belly up. It wouldn't allow me to send mail, and it kept sending me mail from February 2009. Some days we just can't win.

Elizabeth - I never check that box because I know it gave me trouble before. Think it is something else now and it so RANDOM!
Margot - I was thinking of you and your brave move! I think I'm going to do it.
Carol - yes, it is that sneaky surprise attack I don't like. grrr.

for instance it won't let me comment as myself on my OWN blog.

IE kept giving me problems with Google and Blogger, so I use Firefox just for those now.

I've had lots of problems with comments, blogger changing things around and even losing internet service. Sorry that you're going through this. On another note, thanks for being my 100th follower, I will always remember that you came through for me during tough times. Julie

Blogger is probably just trying to work out the bugs. I'm sticking with it because I know how it works and switching now would be just too much work. But, that being said, I haven't had problems with it.

Diane - maybe that's it! I'll try switching to Firefox and see what happens.

Julie - woo hoo! I didn't even notice I was your hundredth. Thanks for the stroke!

Clarissa - yes, that's what keeps me trying. I've been with blogger for over three years and I hate to switch but I've tried everything the forums have told me to and nadda.

I understand your frustrations! I think about moving to wordpress- but I've been with blogger for 2 years and I worry about how to change and if people would follow me over...

I'm skeered!

I had the problem a while back and began looking into WordPress, but I haven't had the problem for a couple of months now. It seems to come and go, like a virus.

Hey Jan! You are so right! The other day I had to sign in to blogger every time I left a comment..I also thought about leaving, I don't know...it's very frustrating isn't it?

Even though Blogger is buggy, I tried Wordpress and don't care for it. Blogger won't let me save my post, and if they aren't saved, I can't post them. I have spent over an hour trying to post my writing for the day, Ugh! Also, I comment and then lose my internet connection and have to do-over.Frustrating!!! Wanna go have a glass of wine and get away from it all?

I have lost count Blogger has let me down recently and as I am not techically minded I just have to wait until it rights it self.

I'm back to let you know I had a thought. Hilary told me recently to change one of my comment commands on blogger to POP UP WINDOW and now I don't have to sign in every 5 minutes. Hope this helps if you haven't already solved the problem. Julie

Thanks all! It appears that I am far from alone. Still not sure what to do but will decide in next couple of days - cuz I'm my father's daughter and his motto was 'pitter-patter let's fly atter'!

Hi All - just switched to Google Chrome - see if that works - I also set up a test Living the Complicated Simple Life - imported all my posts and comments...if this doesn't smarten up - I'll head there but I hope it does as I'm just not used to it.

Jan, I understand entirely. I check in with Roberto at Roberto's report to see what's happening with blogger. At the moment I'm rotating between Chrome, Firefox and Safari and that seems to work...(fingers crossed that I haven't jinxed it now)Sue

I grew so tired of Blogger in May that I moved to Wordpress. On the whole it went well, but I lost more than 3,000 comments. Well, they are still where I left them so I can just go back and see them if I feel like it, and I am very happy with Wordpress. Simple to use, and the platform seems so much more reliable.
