Cafehaus in Mahone Bay
The Meandering Shoreline
The surf near Peggy's Cove
Time, it heals all wounds or given some help it wounds all heels!
My finger is better and so I can work. I had a handy list of things to do today and I'm almost through it. And I just got a gift of time - time that was mine all along but that in my ditzy brain had forgotten. I was about to leave the house to go to my grandkids - meet their bus and spend the afternoon with them - when it struck me! It is March break - they are out having fun - there is no bus and although spending time with them is always great - I can stay at home this afternoon and really write. Yay!
So, dear readers, some topics I need to address:
The Chickens - specifically, the hens. For each of the last two days we got 5 eggs. That is one egg from each hen each day!!! Hasn't happened since Miss Prissy came of laying age just when the snow was flying. The Rancher (my man) is very happy. I am too. It is not only lovely to have an abundance of eggs but it is a sure sign of spring!
Le Hibou - when I did my six truths and a lie, I included meeting Jimi Hendrix at Le Hibou - a coffee house in Ottawa. Someone who knows someone told someone about it and a reporter -name of Ken Rockburn, who is writing a book on Le Hibou - contacted me. He interviewed me this morning - I'm number 44 in a wonderful eclectic mixture of musicians, artists, patrons and old hippies that he's interviewed. We have lots of the same pals so it was nice to take a trip down memory lane. I can't wait to see the book - Hibou was a very important part of my life - a nexus of community that was creative and supportive and wonderfully fun.
New Year Solutions - one of the things that I try to pay attention to is my two of three rule - pick three things that I want to do on a regular basis and do at least two of them per day. My three things are walking (usually with dog), sitting (meditating) and writing. It went along quite nicely and I think it is still OK and I realized that I really need to do all three things everyday. I've been good with the sitting and walking and not so good with the writing. So, I'm back at it as of today.
Yesterday - yesterday my friend, Marion, and I had a down the shore day. She is living in Ontario with her fella and helping take care of her mother. When she comes to town I really want to spend time with her and so we've taken to grabbing these days. First we stopped at the memorial for Swiss Air 111 disaster near Peggy's Cove. The waves were fantastic - I took lots of pictures. We mosied on down to Hubbards, had a good lunch, went further down the shore to Mahone Bay where we explored and had treats. Then we jumped on the freeway as far as exit five, and went home the last bit around the shore as the sun turned the waves to pewter. It was a day full of magic and talk and beauty. What more could two gals want?

What a lovely day you had yesterday. I envy you breathing in the waves.
My goodness who would have thought a little blog award could lead to an interview for a book. How exciting for you.
What a great gift! I love time I didn't realize I'd have. I'm glad your finger is better, your chickens are laying (and your pictures are fabulous!) And how cool that you've been interviewed on some great experiences! Looks like you're having a very good day!
That pie looks godd...
Time is wonderful - when you can get it! I'm on spring break this week, so I'm relishing time.
I love the photos - beautiful scenery!
Michele - yes and I'm practising appreciation and my mantra 'you chose this life!'
Ann - yes, that is serendipity - more than the book itself, the chance to go back and remember all those times which were very precious - kind of like now...
Tartlett - oh yes, it has been lovely and the fella and I are going to a movie tonight and I wrote!
Diane - alas, it was my friend who ate the cheese cake but the mango, cranberry gelatto was divine!
Jemi - time, there is nothing better when it is nice and fat.
And thanks all for photo strokes!!
Gorgeous pictures! What a beautiful place. Glad the chickies are laying so well and that your finger is better!

Jane,
YOu know I love a chicken update - and the animal folk do know the seasons better than we do.
Hey did you know that walking is also meditation and also writing ina way, because it clears your thoughts?
So you are doing all three anyway.
The photos are beautiful. Glad to know you're on the mend and sounds like you had a great time with the interview and visiting with your friend.
Thanks Elizabeth!
Denise - yep! Thanks for the reminder. My walking is definitely meditative as is my photography - not so much the writing that I'm doing these days - more so when I was journaling - it would clear my mind of all the bumf!
Thanks MC - I'm having a grand week! March break of the soul...
I love that "someone who knows someone told someone" and then it all came together with a meaningful, fun result. You never know what will happen next in blogger world.
What a great day! Your pictures make me want to be there too! And sounds like a fun interview!
