Ahhhhhhhh. How cute! When my son was your brother's age he solidly refused to wear anything but athletic pants (now at 11 it is jeans and hoodies)... I only miss a handful of things about this time (what was it, mid 60s?) but kids being CHILDREN instead of mini-teens is one of them.
I am having trouble leaving a comment here today. I am going to give it another try. Here goes: love the old timey picture, my sister has been holding the family pictures hostage since Mom died. I call her the picture Nazi.
Ha! Your comment on my post "No Mo Eggnog" over at my place was hilarious. I think you were insinuating that over-the-top-domestic-bliss and perfectly-well-groomed-super-organized-wives-and-mothers are a myth. Ain't that the truth?
The weirdest part, I almost titled that post Ho, ho, ho, Ha, ha ha.
Thanks everyone - gosh, I am cute aren't I - kinda sickly though! Now Denise - I WAS Annie Oakley when I was young - I'll have to dig up that photo! And Helen - don't you think my sister Jude looks like she was drinking the egg nog over at Elizabeth Bradley's site? Elizabeth S-C - I was worried - always worried. that's my strongest impression of childhood. You'd think I single handedly was in charge of the whole joint. Thanks Stacy and back at ya!
Helen - yes - my dear sister reads my blog!!! And she can't help it if she started dipping into the eggnog at an early age. She sent me the picture - I think she was moving some recipe books around - looking for her eggnog recipe when this picture fell out. And for all that read this - it is WELL known in our family and extended circle that Jude is the GORGEOUS one! This picture is a rare moment of me pushing forward and Jude, slightly tipsy, didn't notice or she woulda decked me!

oh Tartlett it is the mid-fifties! Maybe 1957. Don't you love the cowboy pants. Why oh why didn't I have a pair instead of those ugly faux plaid sets?

Cute, cute. The early years of Peter, Paula and Mary? Or in this case, Jan, Jude and Don.

Jude!! I assume your sister does not read your blog? Or perhaps she does. Sister fight! (I know what those are since I have three sisters.)
