I did it - I hit the purple bar - I am over fifty thousand words. I have a good chunk of a novel in a month. Whoa am I tired! So all you people that I haven't been fully here for - I'm here. My life can now go back to
some sort of normalcy - my sort anyway. I will still keep to a goal of a thousand words a day and so be able to get a rough draft in a bit over a month from now but I might not write for a day or two. I wrote six thousand words today. Yikes! And played three games of Sorry with my grandchildren, went on a
Nipkin hunt in the woods and went to a very nice dinner party. So
WOOT WOOT WOOT!

Congratulations! 6000 words yesterday? Wow!

Mystery Writing is Murder
Yes Elizabeth - six thousand - I still feel punch drunk however and I'm not sure they are six thousand suitable words! Now I get to go in and work with what I've got so I am pumped! The best thing is that I have a fairly concrete idea of who did what and why and that is how I find out by writing my shitty first draft so that's lots!
Yay Jan!!!
Can I go on a Nipkin hunt too?
6000 words? In a day??? My brain fries at the thought. Congratulations. 6000?????
Elspeth
Hi Jude - yes you can - of course you know that we aren't hunting Nipkins so much as being Junior Geographers and seeing where they might be living. I'm going to make doors with the kids and we'll place them in front of where we think Nipkins might live. You might like that too!
Elspeth - I know! It staggers the imagination doesn't it? It staggered mine I know.
Congrats, Jan! I knew you could do it!
thanks Stacy! I thought I could too but I feel good meeting that goal - now to wrestle that word jam into a novel.
fantastic!
YOu must share your secrets...
the tricks you use to keep your bim in the chair..
I have to use superglue.
er... bum
in the
chair
Six thousand words in ONE day? I am blown away.
I am impressed with your 6,000 words. I just found your blog and want to congratulate you on your commitment to writing.
Whoa! Thanks you all!
Denise - I think I like 'bim in chair' because it is more like that. I can keep my bum in the chair but not neccesarily my mind on the work - so bim must be bum and mind.
Thank you Elizabeth - I'm kinda blown away too.
And thanks Gutsy Writer - I've seen your face on other's blogs - thanks so much for dropping by.
Congratulations, Jan. It is truly awesome.
Had you paced yourself perfectly and completed the novel without stretching yourself, I would have been impressed, but I am much more impressed by the fact that you had to do so many words on the last day, and still did it.
CONGRATULATIONS again.
