A bathtub. Any bathtub with a wide enough side... Do you have any type of thing like that? A cozy chair or old desk... or tub? Something else that works for me is the "just 5 minutes" approach: tackle something you don't want to do... and after 5 minutes, if you want, you can stop. Apparently, after 5 minutes, we usually find the momentum to keep going.
I was pleased to read today's post that you are feeling a little better. It's so hard to keep on going as a writer and doubly so when one's under the kind of stress you are. I hope this turns out to be an easier year for you and of course I wish your special guy an easy time with his operation. Lots of positivity heading your way...

In the meantime, hang in there and keep going. Step by step. If your heart and classwork are with your poetry right now go with it. Getting some distance from your manuscript may be exactly what you need before you jump back in.

Wishing you a peaceful, productive, succesful 2013!

~VR BarkowskiVR Barkowskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04927993233682731113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722012954806248529.post-88509687903881594992013-01-01T23:42:55.925-04:002013-01-01T23:42:55.925-04:00Kaizen is a good approach! I've hit a brick wall emotionally and it's reassuring to know I'm not alone, though I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. I hope your list helps and that the challenges you foresee aren't as gloomy as anticipated. The grief in leaving a landscape you love is unsettling - I hope you find some comfort in the beauty of your photos and poems.
SueSuehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09715879775216108688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2722012954806248529.post-19668553746374114292013-01-01T15:58:04.285-04:002013-01-01T15:58:04.285-04:00i like your "this is what is, now what am i g...i like your "this is what is, now what am i going to do about it" outlook Jan. list making is happening here also. xoSophieSophiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07397072250294162987noreply@blogger.com
